Iowa Woman Holes Up In Home With Bucket and Shot Gun
I went in to work at 1:30 yesterday afternoon. I got home at 3:30 in the morning.
This morning I was awaken by my bed being shaken. Yes it is so windy here today that my bed shakes hard enough to wake me.
I roll out of bed and walk into the bathroom to find. A river. Yes our huge picture window that was leaking just a little a couple of weeks ago. I now have a huge brown streak running across my plaster swirled ceiling. My pretty new cream roman shade is now the color of a dirty river and I have a brown river running to the other wall over my white tiles with cream colored grout.
Now you may ask why we didn't take care of it a couple of weeks ago. That's the same question I angrily posed to Tim (over the cell phone- I'm sure the whole airport heard my side of the conversation) 5 seconds after taking in the carnage. He of course made the same promise he did two weeks ago.
I'm so upset. Things are so bad at work. We've got some guy trying to get into our house and now this. So if you see this headline in the news tonight, "Iowa woman holes up in home with bucket and shotgun." It's just me.

I know, from experience, that catastrophes of this nature can be so defeating, but chin up, my friend! The Good Lord did not give us a spirit of fear but of power! Press on!
