I Quit

Last month I quit my job and decided to try staying at home with Molly and the new baby on the way (current due date: July 25). And what surprised me is that I tell people and it seems the most common comment about this is "Good, now you can start writing the web page again." So I thought about it, and here I am. I figure that I can sit down a few afternoons a week while Molly naps. At least until the new baby shows up, then all bets are off and there might be silence again. But we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

So far I am very happy. But probably more so than happy, I am relaxed. I didn't realize how much of work was dominated my life. I guess the biggest change is I can lay down at night and go to sleep. Before I laid there and went over what I could have done differently and what tomorrow was going to bring. Now I lay down and I'm out in a matter of minutes because I'm so exhausted. But good exhausted. To all those people who told me I was going to be bored silly: you didn't know what you were talking about. I could use a couple more hours in the day- preferably nap-time hours, but I wouldn't be picky.

So stay tuned for updates from the last nine or so months. You won't believe how clean this place is :)

Good to see you writing again!

Congrats! Those job things take up so much time that would be better spent with the family, working on the house, writing on the blog, etc. :-)

Just found your blog. You are a great writer. Good for you on quiting! I got laid off my cushy job when I was 5 months pregnant with my son. I was a wreck...who would hire a pregnant woman knowing she will be taking maternity leave shortly after?? Well, long story short I never went back to the work force. I can now look back and say that was the best thing that ever happened to me! You are right...you won't be bored. There's always something to be done with little ones around.

I stumbled upon your blog a few days ago and read every entry from the first to last. Glad to see you're back writing again. Congratulations on the new baby.

Glad to have you back!

Hope you enjoy life as a full time mom & blogger. Raising kids is a lot of work, but at least you can do it in your pajamas if you want. Can't wait to see what all you've done with the house. Has it graduated from "soul eater" status yet?

It's soooo nice to see you writing again!! I've really missed you. I have been a fan since well before you got pregnant w/ Molly and I've read every entry from the time you started documenting your remodel journey. No, not a stalker. LOL

Congrats on the new baby! I am very happy for you all. Do you know what it is? And also congrats on loving being a SAHM. Not everyone does (me) so it's lovely to hear mothers that so enjoy it.

I really hope that you'll be able to find the time to blog semi-often. It's so good to see you back. :D

CONGRATS on the babies, coming back and the Mom job. As hard as it is sometimes to lose that 2nd income, it'll pay off over and over with your kids.

I'm glad you're back. I've missed your photos and your stories. The house looks amazing!
