Rain, Rain, Go Away
I'm refusing to look at the forecast. Denial will make it go away. But it did lightning all the way home from work tonight.
It's been pretty cold and windy around here lately and Tim's been gone for work most of the last few weeks so I haven't gotten on the gardening bender most of my fellow old home owners have. But I'm hoping that tomorrow will be the day.
The plans for Becky's Big Day Of Yard Work:
-till the future site of our garden
-assess the damage to the windbreak from flooding and no winter protection
-move the 7 little lilac bushes given to me by my grandfather
-cut down every-other pine tree north of our house (they've grown too close together)
-clean off the porches and bring the porch furniture out
-plant flowers in the chicken feeders in front of the barn
-restake the anniversary tree
-assess what needs to be done to fix up my grandparents old picnic table
-mow
-move and restore the outhouse (not going to happen, but can't I dream)

Yikes! I'm tired just reading your "to do" list. My big day of gardening list starts off the same as yours....and then ends after your first item :-)
You have an outhouse? I'm so jealous! I would be happy if I could just figure out where ours once was. Or maybe our house always had indoor plumbing ... but we are in Alabama. So many mysteries to solve!
